MCU-Coatings are used extensively in the mining industry and are well suited to mining as they are able to withstand C 5 industrial environments interestingly.

- All MCU-Coatings primers have exceeded 10,000 hours of salt spray testing. MCU-Ferroguard has in fact survived 20,000 hours – and still shows minimal corrosion creep at the scribe line.
- Adhesion to a wide range of metallic substrates (including steel, metal alloys and concrete).
- Good chemical resistance.
- Excellent abrasion and impact resistance.
- Outstanding elasticity. Do not embrittle over time – so they are able to withstand flexing and vibrations.
- Cathodic protection from the encapsulated zinc particles guarantees long term protection. The micaceous barrier created by the zinc and mio particles ensures they work really well when the coatings are immersed.
- Micaceous particles also guarantee good UV resistance.
Shut downs for repainting can be shortened by 30 – 40% when using MCU-Coatings compared with 2 pack epoxy / polyurethane systems. In addition to its protective properties, MCU-Coatings systems are extremely versatile, so there is no need for dozens of different ‘special purpose’ products.
