Potable Water Assets

MCU-Coatings are drinking water and foodstuff approved. MCU-Coatings are not prone to micro cracking as they retain their flexibility over time, which is an important attribute for food and drinking water approved coatings as they age.

Our potable water specification is 170µm DFT MCU-Miozinc primer and 120µm DFT MCU-Mastic:

Coating features:

• Single-component system that can be brushed, rolled or sprayed
• It is not weather restricted:
  • can be applied between 6% – 99% relative humidity
  • can be applied at -15°C and even onto 70°C steel surfaces
  • no dew point restrictions; and
  • are not troubled by rain events 15 minutes after application
• Is surface tolerant
• Can be over-coated in 45 minutes, which is great for maintenance work
• Is flexible and unaffected by vibrations
• Does not embrittle over time
• Is easy to clean; and
• Bonds tenaciously to good ‘old’ coatings
