MCU-Coatings have been successfully applied to pipelines for more than 20 years, and have consistently out-performed 2 pack epoxy and polyurethane coatings because they are flexible, do not embrittle over time and have excellent weathering characteristics. We are also able to demonstrate significant application savings because we use a 2-coat system that can be applied between -15ºC and 50ºC, when the RH is between 6%-99% and it is not impacted by rain events 15 minutes after it is applied.

Our standard pipeline specification is MCU-Zinc at 150µm DFT and MCU-Miotopcoat at 75µm DFT:

• Single-component system that can be brushed, rolled or sprayed
• It is not weather restricted:
  • can be applied between 6% – 99% relative humidity
  • can be applied at -15°C and even onto 70°C steel surfaces
  • no dew point restrictions; and
  • are not troubled by rain events 15 minutes after application
• Is surface tolerant
• Our universal primers adhere really well to all metallic surfaces
• Can be over-coated in 45 minutes
• Excellent long-life flexibility to handle steel expansion and contraction
• Does not embrittle over time and has excellent UV resistance
• Excellent abrasion and impact resistance
• Bonds tenaciously to good ‘old’ coatings
