Cargo Tanks

MCU-Coatings do not crack or leach and are chemically resistant, so our potable water coating system is well suited for internal cargo tanks. These same coatings are also resistant to oil products and other liquids with a PH between 3 and 9 at ambient temperatures.

Our standard product specification for cargo tanks is 150µm MCU-Zinc primer and 75µm MCU-Miotopcoat:

• Single-component system that can be brushed, rolled or sprayed
• It is not weather restricted:
  • can be applied between 6% – 99% relative humidity
  • can be applied at -15°C and even onto 70°C steel surfaces
  • has no dew point restrictions; and
  • are not troubled by rain events 15 minutes after application
• Is surface tolerant
• Can be over-coated in 45 minutes, which is great for maintenance work
• Is flexible and unaffected by vibrations and steel flexing
• Does not embrittle over time
• Excellent abrasion and impact resistance
• Easy to clean
• Drinking water and direct food contact approved
• Bonds tenaciously to good ‘old’ coatings

As this paint system works so well with grey and black water tanks it is capable of reducing annualised maintenance costs by more than 50% and also guarantees faster project completion times.
