Concrete Floors

MCU-Coatings are usually applied to concrete to seal and protect floors from spills and tyre marks, or for aesthetic and /or cleaning purposes. MCU-Coatings are hard wearing and available in almost any colour.

Our MCU-Coatings three-coat system requires a MCU-Miomastic sealer coat with 25% thinners (a 4:1 solution) at 75µm DFT, MCU-Miomastic at 75µm DFT intermediate coat, and MCU-Topcoat at 75µm DFT. The main advantages of this coating system:

• Single-component system that can be brushed, rolled or sprayed
• It is not weather restricted:
  • can be applied between 6% – 99% relative humidity
  • can be applied at -15°C and even onto 70°C steel surfaces
  • no dew point restrictions; and
  • are not troubled by rain events 15 minutes after application
• Can also be applied onto a slightly damp concrete surfaces
• Bonds well on UHP and abrasive blasted surfaces
• Is able to withstand heavy loads and is not affected by shear (from vehicular traffic turning)
• It is durable and impact resistant
• They do not embrittle and have excellent UV an impact resistance
• It is a really thin-film when compared to other protective coatings, and is therefore quite economical
• MCU-Coatings bond tenaciously to good ‘old’ coatings
